Flick Joins Sec. Kennedy to Promote Healthy Eating Habits at Pennsylvania Capitol

January 21, 2026

HARRISBURG – Rep. Jamie Flick (R-Lycoming/Union) issued the following statement after U.S. Secretary of Health and Human Services Robert Kennedy Jr. visited the Pennsylvania Capitol to kick off the “Eat Real Food” tour.

“I was on hand to join Secretary Kennedy in promoting healthier eating habits and raising awareness about the importance of eating real, nutritious food for families across Pennsylvania.

“Growing up on a farm, I learned firsthand the value of fresh, wholesome food. This initiative reminds us that healthy eating starts with real ingredients, and I’m proud to support efforts that make nutritious choices accessible for families across Pennsylvania.

“During his remarks, Secretary Kennedy talked about the impact poor nutrition and processed food have on children, contributing to rising rates of diabetes, obesity and other health problems. As a member of Pennsylvania House Children and Youth Committee, I’m dedicated to supporting initiatives that strengthen families and promote access to real, nutritious food across our communities.

“I supported the Whole Milk in Schools legislation, which restores flexibility for schools to offer whole milk and other options, benefiting both students and Pennsylvania’s dairy farmers.

“Looking ahead, I will continue advocating for policies that empower families and strengthen Pennsylvania’s agricultural economy.”
