Flick to Host E-Recycling Event on Saturday, Oct. 3

HARRISBURG – Rep. Jamie Flick (R-Lycoming/Union) is inviting residents to join his office at an upcoming e-recycling event that will take place at his Legislative District Office on Saturday, Oct. 3, from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m., located in the parking lot at 1000 Commerce Park Drive, Williamsport.

“As a state representative, I’m always looking for ways to make life easier for the constituents I serve,” Flick said. “This is another service I am happy to provide for the people who call the 83rd Legislative District home.”

Flick is working with Mamoth, who has hosted events with several state representatives in the past and setup to handle large events with equipment and staff.

There are several items residents will be able to recycle for free. Examples of items taken for free include computers, smartphones, tablets, modems, routers, cameras, appliances, video game consoles, memory cards, power tools, wires, chargers and hard drives.

Other items will feature a pay-as-you-go fee. It will be $5 for printers; $10 for CDs, DVDs, floppy disks, LCD monitors and USB thumb drives; $20 for CRT monitors and floor copiers; $30 for air conditioning units, console stereos and workout equipment; $35 for TVs under 42 inches; and $50 for TVs larger than 42 inches.

“I understand many residents have electronics that are cluttering their homes and offices,” Flick said. “I’m glad to help get rid of them in a safe and secure manner.”

Residents don’t need to sign up for an appointment to drop off an item. They can also visit Mamoth’s website for more details on acceptable items and costs.
